Researchers in Hong Kong are developing a reflective white coating material that is cementitious (cured with alkali like portland cement) rather cured with organic polymers. Cementitious coatings can be more durable than organic polymer coatings. The authors report that the coating is both highly reflective of solar energy and highly emissive for radiating Earth's heat to space in long wave infrared energy.
